Anmerkung
(1) „Even as his biological father pushed the maturing boy into various forms of opposition, a father substitute appeared to whom Prinz was greatly drawn. Felix Goldmann, the rabbi of Oppeln when Joachim moved there in 1910, was one of the most capable of the German Liberal rabbis and also one of the most innovative. [...] When this youthful rabbi took Joachim with him on secret early morning deliveries of food and clothing to the non-Jewish poor, it made a lasting impression on the boy. [...] In one of two eulogies that Prinz himself published, he wrote: ‚Felix Goldmann was my teacher. I owe him everything. It was he who made me into a Jew. It was he who drove me to my rabbinical profession.‘“ (2) Prinz: „I began to love him, and love him I did until he died. This although I became an early Zionist [...] and he was a Rabbi anti-Zionist.“ (3) Prinz: „It is difficult to imagine the enormous influence Goldmann had over me. He remained my ideal as a rabbi because he combined so many human traits with his ministry. His style of preaching has remained meaningful to me until this day, and no one had a greater influence on my own style of preaching than he.“
