Anmerkung
In der Bibliothek des Reichssicherheitshauptamtes in der Eisenacher Straße 12 (Amt VII) mussten jüdische Bibliothekare und Gelehrte Zwangsarbeit leisten.
Anmerkung
„The main task imposed on the Jewish forced labourers was to establish a bibliographical order for these valuable but disordered and usually fragmented book collections, and to prepare a basic catalogue of library holdings. For this purpose, two groups of workers were formed. Due to his previous experience in library work and his broad knowledge of Jewish literature, gained as a bookseller in Königsberg, Grumach was appointed as a leader of the first working group, responsible for registering and cataloguing looted volumes. The second group, consisting of additional labourers and headed by Max Schwarzwälder, was put in charge of manual labour in the library such as packing and loading registered collections.“
