The Biographical series contains correspondence, passports, notebooks, and other documents related to Samter's life in Germany, his emigration to the United States, Samter's parents and other family, and his military service. The Professional series contains information on UIC and the ‚Realities of Medicine‘ workshop, correspondence and newsletters of the International Association of Allergology and Clinical Immunology, files from Samter's work on a Blue Ribbon Committee on Attorney Discipline in the 1980s, and medical articles by Samter and others. The Photographs and Artifacts series consists of glass and 35 mm medical and teaching slides, photo albums and loose photographs, and assorted notes, awards, and memorabilia.
